Face-to-face in Sheffield or Online
I'm Rosie (they/she) and I provide counselling and psychotherapy sessions to adults from all walks of life.
I offer daytime and evening face-to-face sessions at my cosy office in Sheffield City Centre or online sessions via video call.
My approach to therapy is both gentle and genuine. My training in Integrative Counselling (Prof. Dip. Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy) means I prioritise building a foundation of trust and understanding with clients above all else.
As part of developing therapy relationships that can facilitate deep understanding and growth, I tend to bring my full 'humanness' to sessions. This means I show up with authenticity and curiosity - I experience sincere fondness for those I work with, providing my honest reflections and sometimes offering gentle challenges, although always from a basis of care and kindness.
I work with clients to address a wide variety of issues. This has often included experiences that clients have felt discouraged from discussing in their day-to-day lives e.g. processing grief, bereavement and other losses including relationship break-ups, family estrangement, chronic illness, sex work, diverse kinks, body image, historical trauma or abuse, men's issues, unconventional beliefs, dating fatigue, work-related disillusion, shame, loneliness, self-loathing or low self-esteem.
I have particular experience working with clients who deviate from societal expectations or feel marginalised in some way because of their identities or beliefs. This may include but is not limited to, clients who identify as LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, disabled, gender-nonconforming, polyamorous or non-monogamous, survivors of abuse, and clients concerned about social injustice, climate change and the environment.
I enjoy learning about the uniqueness of each client and working collaboratively to tailor our sessions to each person's individual needs.
I ensure I maintain a broad and constantly expanding range of techniques and approaches to allow me to adapt what I can offer to suit clients' needs as they change over time. This has also allowed me to maintain my love for this work for so long and to meet each new client feeling full of intrigue and enthusiasm, as no two sessions are ever the same.
(You can read more about the different approaches and techniques I offer in my 'About Me' section).
As an accredited psychotherapist I regularly reassess and improve my practice to ensure I adhere to the professional standards and ethical framework of my membership body - The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
